At home manicure

Well I’m a bit late to posting this week.  I wasn’t really sure what my post would be about. There were plans to start clean eating and exercising and I also wanted to read more.  The last one was accomplished although it were mostly Harlequin/Mills & Boon romance novels. They are very good for escapism but not really interesting for a blog post. So I went back to my original idea for a blog post, namely home manicures and especially Gel lack nail polish.

When I want gel nails I normally go to my cousin. But as she lives 40 minutes away (I know not the end of the world), and she has also a full time job and a family I sometimes find it hard to make an appointment and check when she can do my nails. Therefore I browsed the internet and searched for easy systems with a good price value. Apparently I already started this process in March 2017, according to a screenshot in my film roll. However it wasn’t until January of this year that during another stress period that I bit the bullet and purchased the Led XL starter set from http://www.pinkgellac.nl

With this starter set came 7 colors.  They normally deliver the next day but at that time it wasn’t indicated correctly that the set wasn’t in stock, so I ended up with 2 LED lamps, an extra 8 colors and so many wipes I can start my own salon. Apart from this first miscommunication I’m very happy with the service of this company. For my birthday and together with the coveted hand sanitizer I added another array of colors at the beginning of March.

It takes a bit of practice as you can’t come to close to the nail edges and you have to see that your layers are not to tickly applied either. I’m not an expert yet. Because I’m right handed, my left hand always turns out way better than my right hand. Also nail art is absolutely something that I can’t apply myself.

The bottle and website claims that the polish lasts about 14 days. However I removed polish on Sunday that stayed and held strong for 3 weeks. The only hack I haven’t found is how to easily remove the polish.  I tried 3 methods and all of them seem to need a high amount of patience and acetone. So the golden tip for polish removal is still welcome.

I’m very happy with this purchase and I think it is a cost that is easily earned back if you change your polish regularly. Also with nail salons closed during this lock down it was a life saver in feeling somewhat human and put together.

With walking mostly barefoot in the house I’m guessing the next appointment with my cousin will be for a pedicure instead of a manicure.
