    Virtual Escape rooms

    Escape rooms can be a fun day out with family of friends. Picking the date when everyone is available, or in my case finding friends to go with, can be a challenge. Off course in this time of social distancing escape rooms are closed. But there are boxes that you can order to play one at home, or there are virtual escape rooms to discovered. This last one is just what I did last weekend.     Last week my mother had her birthday and the day before my parents celebrated their wedding anniversary.  I try to make the greeting cards myself each year.  But depending on time and mood, it doesn’t always happen.  However with the intention I set on my own birthday to send cards for every birthday during quarantine I couldn’t skip this year. Nevertheless I must admit that I didn’t follow trough on this for a couple of my cousins birthdays.  The reason for this was that I either didn’t have their correct address or date of birth.     Quarantine reads

    While World War II ended 75 years ago, this COVID 19 pandemic may feel like war for some people.  We can only leave home to buy necessities or go for a walk, jog, bike ride to clear our head. There is no limit on distance for these last activities here in Belgium. But this cabin fever and the images of hoarding and even fighting in some supermarkets is enough for some to draw the parallel with curfews and food shortages during the war.  However there are no bombs falling, no people are rounded up and send to concentration camps and we don’t need food stamps for our necessities.     Birthday in Covid19 lockdown

    On March 29th I celebrated my 40th birthday. It was a birthday that before the Covid 19 pandemic was already weighing on me in terms of what have I achieved already and what I have to show for it. However the celebrations wouldn’t be any different than any other birthday. For about 10 years now it is tradition that I will go and watch a musical by myself.
