Book recommendations: Burning for the bravest
I was planning on posting this blog post down the line, but seeing as the books I want to recommend are on sale this weekend (Amazon UK & US only) I would like to steer you in the direction of Kaye Kennedy and her “Burning for the bravest” series.
The first book of the series came out over a year ago and the third book had its 1-year book birthday yesterday. So some details of those books may be already quite hazy in my memory. In total there are 8 books, 7 in the series and 1 stand-alone Christmas novel.
I picked up the first one because it had nice artwork and who doesn’t like to read about hot firefighters. My first thought was that it would make a quick and quite fluffy easy read romance novel. However, a cover is not the book (to quote Lin Manuel Miranda & Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins returns). The characters are well fleshed out. The men aren’t afraid to reveal their softer sides or deal with their emotions as well.
The books have fire fighting action, which turns hairy from time to time, friendships, love, and romance, intertwined with some steamy scenes.
Hence they became quite the page-turner and as I started some of them after dinner they turned into nights of little sleep as while I hoped they would all have happy endings I couldn’t wait to find out if they did yes or no.
I don’t want to give too much away so you can discover as many of the books yourselves. What I still like to add is that all books can be read as a stand-alone. However, if you do start with a book in the middle of the series and you decide you like it, it may contain spoilers from the previous books. This is because the stories are centered around 4 brothers, their inlaws, and friends. As per my other blogs, these Amazon links aren’t affiliated links, but just a way for you to check out or purchase the books.

I don’t know if it is because this was the last book I read but I think she even topped the “burning for the bravest” series with this one.
And while they make perfects beach reads, nothing can beat cozying up on the sofa with a good book and beverage of your choice. If you are not sold yet, go check the reviews on goodreads.com.
