Deliciou review
Sinterklaas, or Saint Nicholas, returned to Spain after bringing some chocolate and spiced shortcrust biscuit and toys for the kids. However, I usually buy most things during the year that there is nothing left to put on the list for Sinterklaas or Santa later in the month.
One of those impromptu buys was done around the same time I made my first Waterdrop purchase. After seeing it on my Instagram, I purchased Deliciou spices (https://eu.deliciou.com/).
I went all out and purchased almost all of their flavors, not knowing how they would taste.
They have all kinds of bacon flavors, which I find great, in a vegetable egg scramble or combined with pork sausage or ground beef. I haven’t been that adventurous and put it on ice cream like in their promotion.
However, while I haven’t tried it myself I think it would be a good combination with roasted chickpeas, vegetarian spaghetti bolognese, or mac & cheese. Speaking of cheese, they also have vegan cheese and nacho cheese seasoning. For the vegan cheese, I haven’t found the correct amount to sprinkle on something yet. Whenever I use it, the dish doesn’t have a cheese flavor. I tried the nacho cheese on homemade popcorn and I loved it.
I only used the chicken seasoning on real chicken, so I haven’t formed an opinion on this one yet.
When I last used the “vegetable dust” I had to reopen and pulverize the seasoning again, which was a bit annoying. The taste is ok, but nothing special, same as the “everything” seasoning. This last one stayed shakeable, which is a positive.
If you like things spicy, you can also purchase Chipotle or Sriracha. Also, for these two I haven’t found the correct amount yet, as I like some bite but not too spicy. At the moment, it seems that the Sriracha is no longer available on the site.
I like the fries seasoning on pan-baked potatoes. In my opinion, parsnips or celeriac will be tasty with this seasoning as well.
The “garlic lovers” seasoning is just what the name says. The “Taco” seasoning is in promotion at the moment. I use this mostly with ground chicken or ground beef.
In Belgium, we don’t use ranch dressing. If I surveyed the most ordered sauces/dressings at the local chips/fries shop or restaurant I’m guessing it would be mayonnaise, ketchup (both tomato and curry), and cocktail followed by tartare, andalouse, samurai, and garlic sauce. While ranch dressing also has garlic in it, I don’t find that the taste is similar. I haven’t found the correct pairing for this seasoning.
In case you want to start a Whole30 in January, be aware that most of them aren’t compatible as they may contain some kind of sugar, rice flour, or another ingredient that isn’t allowed. Read the labels carefully before purchasing or consuming.
If you tried these seasonings which one do you prefer and do you have a must-try recipe or combination.
