Goodbye August: highlights of the last 2 weeks of the month

My dad has his birthday today, so that means that it is the last day of August. In his honor I’m starting of this post with the card I made for his birthday.

I only found out after my first Craftelier haul,(www.craftelier.com) that my Silhoutte cameo is no longer compatible with Windows 10. Hence for the word “Birthday” I used the “Marianne Design Col1349 Birthday-UK” cutting die with my “love 2 craft”. The 67 is from a paint stencil bought at Action and cut out with scissors on Kraft Paper. The happy is the top of a Happy Birthday stamp. I added all this on a facemask and more Kraft Paper to remember these strange COVID-19 birthday celebrations.

Because of these strange times I still work from home and only venture out for some necessary grocery shopping trips. I should definitely move and walk more to loose my stress weight. In order to get me motivated for that and also see my progress I made a some inserts for my planner: a vision board, a place for before and after photos and weight tracking. As weight doesn’t paint the whole picture and one of my main 2020 goals was to get fitter, I also want to track how my strength improves. For this last one I will track how long I can hold a plank, how many modified push-ups and modified burpees I can do in a minute. My vision board consists of some photos with motivation quotes from the @yesfitchallenges Instagram page and a couple of before and after photos from December 2018 as from then till about June 2019 I felt my best.

The week before I made this vision board my eating was very good, 3 meals a day no snacks and only homecooked meals. The dish I liked the most is the “campfire stew” out of the “Pinch of Nom” cookbook. They also have different recipes on their website: https://pinchofnom.com/

The name of my planner brand is also still very accurate. I still love it. I don’t think I ever journaled each day for a month. So while I’m getting that habit down, there are still some I got to make. And it seems that each couple of weeks I think of others to add. That miracle morning by Hal Elrod (https://miraclemorning.com/) is hard to achieve. I keep trying each day and each week. But my bed and social media or online games are sometimes hard to fight, no matter how beautiful my weekly spread.

My September goals are pretty much the same as the August once, with one big addition of a “No Spend” challenge. All these stickers are all so tempting, I’m still waiting on a pre-order I did on August 19th which include the book “Plan a happy life” by Stephanie Fleming, and the day before yesterday I ordered extra stickers and the black punch (https://thehappyplanner.com/products/the-happy-planner-big-punch-black?_pos=1&_sid=ccb1b39cc&_ss=r) So for the next 3 months I’m going to try and save some money and determine if I need something before buying it.

I only have my “summer holiday” in 2 weeks’ time so depending on what I’m going to do then I didn’t want to decorate for autumn yet. As I liked last week’s yellow highlighter I tried to incorporate it again for next week. But not liking it very much this time around.

Going to try and get out more in September so my blogs won’t be filled with @the_happy_planner products and spreads, but as I love them that much so far I can’t make any promises.

If you want to share some ideas on how to get in the habit of the miracle morning or improve other habits, I’m all ears.
