Our Belgian pancake day always falls on February 2nd, together with Candlemas, on the one hand, one can say I’m a bit late with this blog. On the other hand, USA national pancake day is only March 1st, so I’m still on time.The tradition of pancakes on Candlemas stems from a special kind of biscuits eaten on February 2nd when farmhands were hired for jobs (they could only change jobs or be hired on 2 dates in the year, February 2nd or November 11th).
