Homemade greeting cards
Last week my mother had her birthday and the day before my parents celebrated their wedding anniversary. I try to make the greeting cards myself each year. But depending on time and mood, it doesn’t always happen. However with the intention I set on my own birthday to send cards for every birthday during quarantine I couldn’t skip this year. Nevertheless I must admit that I didn’t follow trough on this for a couple of my cousins birthdays. The reason for this was that I either didn’t have their correct address or date of birth. If they read this I apologize to them.
The question that remained now was which type of card I would make. Even though I’m furloughed for 50%, my desk is now full time occupied by my work laptop and other work related documents. Hence I didn’t want to make to much of a crafting mess.
This meant that it would be relatively simple cards, that kind of looked fancy anyway. To accomplish this I used my “Love 2 Craft” cutting and embossing machine, with 2 different folders that I purchased last year at Action (https://www.action.com/nl-be/). The “Birthday wishes” stamp is from a sheet I have for some time already and not sure anymore if I purchased it at Boekenvoordeel (https://www.boekenvoordeel.nl/) or Pipoos (https://www.pipoos.com/). Because it is already an older stamp I found that the text, with this particular color of ink, was not really legible. So I used my Sakura Pigma fine Brush Pen (got if from Amazon, https://www.amazon.de/), to go over it. Also the Anniversary text was written with this pen. For the heart on the anniversary card I used a color image from the iOS app “Happy Color”.
I have a weakness for scrap booking and card making paper, even though I don’t use them quite often enough. Therefore I can’t tell you if the paper used for this project came from Action or Boekenvoordeel.
The links mentioned are just for full transparency on materials used. So I don’t earn money when you click on them and they are not sponsored or adds.
As my bike had a flat tire and I didn’t have any stamps in the house I delivered them personally (respecting social distancing, hand hygiene) on foot. It was a nice evening walk, but after weeks of no exercise at all, I was glad to be back home after 13 kilometers.
I hope they were able to celebrate a bit, despite the lock down, and that they have many more wonderful years ahead of them.
